| Happy Non-Denominational Tentacle Porn! (NWS) |
[25 Dec 2009|10:31am] |
So, last night, on the night before Christmas, I did what any sensible atheist-Jew does.
I drew tentacle porn.
It is FESTIVE.
( Non-Denominational Tentacle Porn-NOT WORK SAFE )
For those of you who celebrate, merry Christmas. For those of you who don't, Happy Watch-Die-Hard-While-Drinking-Mojitos-With-Your-Pants-Off Day. <--what I will be doing.
I'm going to go make some stuffed mushrooms now. Nom nom nom.

so, tell me of a peice of music/movie that screams christmas to you. it doesn't necessarily have to be christmassy, if you watch rent every christmas that's cool.
for mine, every year since it's been out we've listened/watched Mr Hankey's Christmas Classics while putting up the christmas tree. (SHELLY IS GOING TO KILL THE TURDS, ON CHRISTMAS DAY IN THE MORNING) it takes a while for the tree to come together, so we must watch it like five times in a row. best christmas special EVER.

| SELLING ALL OF MY STUFF |
[24 Dec 2009|02:08pm] |
Or a lot of it.
I'm selling a LOT of my old comic books, doujinshi, etc.
My ebay seller listing is HERE
Please take a look, and SPREAD THE WORD. Even if you're not interested, recommend it to a friend/fangirl who might be? I hate to sell these but I need food money/art supply money for the new semester.

| Selling a LOT of stuff. |
[24 Dec 2009|01:32pm] |
So, I need money. I REALLY need money. And school being the way it is, I won't have enough time to start commissions since I go back on Jan 4th.
So I am selling almost all of my comic books...after about 10 years of collecting. Comic books, art books, yaoi manga, doujinshi...the whole bit.
I'm going to put some of them on eBay, but I might go via LiveJournal first since I like LJ better.
I'm going to put pictures up shortly, and if anyone wants to call "dibs" on anything, let me know.
I really hate having to sell these but food money has to take priority over keeping my art books. Bleh.

Give me some speed!porn Kirk/Bones prompts, stat! As vanilla/kinky as you like, any era that you like, as long as your prompt is visual and art-appropriate.
I have been immersing myself in lovely jubbly Kirk/Bones epics over the past week, and then I rewatched Star Trek: Reboot a few days ago and it was like watching the whole thing through K/B-tinted goggles.
So shiny and perfect and aaaah!
Help a gal out, would you flist? ♥

There have been some new friends adding me recently (♥), so I feel obliged to introduce myself officially. :D
Hi!
Fandom: My name is Lizard (for all intents and purposes) and I love drawing fanart. :D I started out in Harry Potter fandom, spent several years wallowing in the joy of little gay wizards, and then I meandered into various other fandoms as the mood struck me.
My masterlist of fanart can be found here, and my inventory of collabs and gift fics (♥!) can be found here. The vast majority of my stuff is HP - particularly Snape/Harry! - but there are various pairings/threesomes/etc there, as well as some het and gen (inorite? Gen, wtf).
At present, I'm active in BBC Merlin and Star Trek IX, with a toe still dipped into HP. Merlin/Arthur and Colin/Bradley all the way \o/ but in Trek, everyone needs to have sex with each other. Don't deny it, you know it's true.
Fo Realz: I am 23 years old (soon to be 24 on January 1st! Yes, that is in fact Colin Morgan's exact birthday, you can congratulate me later) and I live in London. My major time-suck in life is my Medical degree, which I am 18 months away from completing (holy shit D:) after which I will be responsible for people's lives and stuff. No pressure or anything. >__>
Other things to know about me: I'm Bengali, I'm teetotal, I'm Muslim. Whatever puny nuggets of free time I get, I spend drawing fanart or reading fic. I mention this because, sadly, I often do not have the time to reply to comments. :( However I read them all with much gratitude and glee, and if you actually have a question of some sort for me, I won't let that go unanswered. ♥ (unless I forget, in which case, please prod me again!)
Journal: When I get the chance, I post fanart. In between art posts, there will be the odd anecdote about Medicine, Merlin episode reviews (except no more til next September, WOE!!), and other generally worthwhile things that pop into my head.
You guys: So :D Introduce yourselves! I'm honoured that you've friended me, and I hope you'll find my future journal posts interesting. ♥

this is the first meme i've done in a long time, but it had to be done.
On the twelfth day of Christmas, gala_apples sent to me... Twelve threesomes drumming Eleven fuh-q-fests piping Ten orgies a-leaping Nine seamus dancing Eight pyjamas a-milking Seven corsets a-swimming Six challenges a-cross-dressing Five se-e-e-ex toys Four dresden dolls Three melancholy deaths Two zomgz seamus ...and a sirius-is-not-dead in a bill/charlie.
now i want to write some sort of hogwarts orgy with twelve threesomes. or for that matter, ten leaping orgies sounds fascinating.

Title: When You Dream Rating: NC17 Word Count: 1937 Character(s)/Pairing(s): Dominique/Louis/Hugo Summary: Dominique has always had his uses for Louis, but it's the first time he's ever needed him. Warnings: Noncon. While not quite sociopaths, neither of the Delacour-Weasleys are mentally healthy either. Author's Notes: originally written for hp_cestfest.
http://community.livejournal.com/hp_tng/197754.html
sometimes writing darker stuff is wonderful. i had been stuck for awhile, trying to get the person's happier ideas like bondage, the happier pairings like lorcan/lysander or fred/george. but she also said any weasley, and she liked dark kinks. so in a matter of hours i wrote this up, and i really like it. fantastically, the fic i got back is also deliciously dark.

My legs hurt.
I did a 7 mile hike through a redwoods reserve. Walked along a cute creek in lots of mud, trees, water, banana slugs, and other things.
Now I'm exhausted but all of today's fics for jehols is up. :D
Right now, I just want a massage and sleep. Tomorrow is time enough for all the aching and the craving for more energy.

for those that have been in fandom awhile/know it's dirty little secrets (i'm looking at you, coconut!) was the draco trilogy good? i just finished reading her city trilogy, and it made me wonder about her fanfic, which i found out on google was called the draco trilogy. was it good? is the city trilogy the same, with names changed?
i know that some of you think that fanficcers that become authors turn douchy, i know at least one of you is a ficcer-turned-published author. opinions?
would any of you turn your big bang fics into books, if you thought you wouldn't get caught? i don't think i would, mainly because my longer fics are all character based/au's at certain points of jkr's plot, and there's no way i could translate any of it into original stuff.
that being said, a horrible OC ridden, OOC trio fic from the oldschool days of ff.net was my subject for nano a few year ago, because it wasn't like ron and harry and hermione were r/h/h like anyway. i loved the plot, it had to be written again, properly.

| Sad. |
[19 Dec 2009|06:57am] |
Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I am going to go ahead and read as much as I fucking like into it.
Here's the article in question--Zoe Saldana poses like a pinup while talking about one-dimensional roles women are offered.
I'm confused, and I'm going to copy-paste my comments from the original page here: --- This is a great article. Which is why I'm baffled by the pictures.
She seems so down-to-earth, and yet in these pictures, I just get this oozing vibe of "Trying too Hard". I'm hoping that it was just the photographers posing her or something.
I have this maybe naive hope that maybe one day women will feel powerful enough not to pose like goddamn pinups in every fucking magazine article--especially when this is NOT about her sexuality, but about her work.
Honestly? That last one just hurts me to look at. Because when she says this:
The scripts always say, "Jane is sexy, voluptuous." But what's Jane's mental state? What's she struggling with? It's only the hero who is allowed to be troubled, searching... I just won't even waste my time with big studio romantic comedies. We can do so much better than that.'
...and then does that? I'm confused. Feeling sexy and being unabashed about it is one thing, but these pictures reek of the flatness that she says she's trying so hard to combat.
Because yes. We CAN do better. But someone has to start. We can talk about it all we want, but until someone starts doing something about the IMAGERY, pop culture isn't likely to follow.
Seeing shit like this is so fucking depressing. It's like people who fetishize pinups and go "omg, independent women". Yes...and no.
Can you imagine if women, say, in Newsweek or BusinessWeek or Forbes posed like this while talking about annual reports? Come on now. This is your fucking job. I understand that it's an actresses job to also look good because of the unrealistic (and hypersexualized) expectations of our media, but it shouldn't be JUST that. And to have a three-dimensional article with such flat, bland, oh-look-more-pinup-pose photos just seals the deal.
These pictures, as well as recent articles and photosets, just say this to me:
Zoe Saldana is smart, because she's realized one thing that a lot of girls have to realize at one point in their lives. The way women have to feel powerful in this society is to be "one of the boys" while also being "the one the boys want to fuck".
It's the "I'm not like the other girls, I fix cars" Megan Fox bullshit again.

Hurrah!! So my camelotsolstice gift fic was posted earlier this week, and I didn't even realise because my flist-checking regularity has been simply atrocious lately, and BOTH the mods had to go and poke me towards it. xD
Oops.
However! It was a lovely read, once I got round to reading it. Solid characterisation, with a slow-build plot that takes the boys on an emotional journey that is multi-layered and fraught with angst for them both. It's magic reveal, which I am a HUGE fan of, and I think the author has dealt well with Merlin and Arthur's spectrum of feelings and attitudes. Also, a GREAT supporting cast, particularly Morgana. :D
And just so you know, there is a delightfully satisfying happy ending. :D
Go read! I hope you all enjoy. ^_^

man it's been awhile since i've read canon. for those more recent than i... important question for one of my big bangs.
has ron seen the inside of dumbledore's office, before the second task of GOF? at first i thought he must have, for COS, but then he wouldn't have, because they went straight to gilderoy and then to the chamber, right? Dumbledore broke the news to the rest of the family, but not Ron, right?
please to be responding!

My last few days, let me show you them:
Thursday: Agonising exam results day, very bad for my blood pressure no doubt. Had celebratory fish and chips with my family afterwards and ate WAY too much. :9 Mmmm.
Friday: Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Careers day at the Royal College Of Surgeons. Mind blowing and amazing, but I have been scared off for good. With an 80% rejection rate (80%!!!!), it's just not worth pinning my hopes on such a nebulous dream. Especially when I don't particularly like surgeons. xD
Career advice #1: Hating your potential colleagues in your chosen field does not bode well for future psychological integrity.
There was this precocious little twerp at the careers event - still doing his A-Levels, but has decided that Plastics is the way to go. Which, fair enough, go him. I admire dedicated ambition. We were talking about med school (since he's going to start next year) and he asked me whether I had a degree already (which I would have done, except that part where I failed two years in a row xD).
AND THEN, he was all like, "Ha ha! No degree! That's not good enough to get into plastics! Ha ha, just kidding."
...Yes, thank you, you priveleged little worm, for pointing that out. What the fuck! I don't even know where these people come from. In what universe is it appropriate to say such a thing to a total stranger!? One who was giving him advice too, the little shit. >:0
He will probably end up as a really successful surgeon, too. *rolls eyes* The horrible ones always do.
Saturday & Sunday: Super-intense revision weekend at the Royal Society of Medicine (I love living in London! All the awesome places are so near!) which was really worthwhile but mentally exhausting. I ended up having to miss out on TWO Christmas parties because of it *sadface* but I'm glad I went.
Although I did pop by the merlin_london Christmas party for a couple of hours in the evening, but honestly I think I was rather terrible company, what with my brain being stuffed with cardiology, urology, renal medicine, and vascular diseases. xD
Monday: A whole day at uni to discuss post-graduate applications for foundation doctor jobs. *wibbles* Very scary! However, I have renewed hope that I will not be carted off to the furthest reaches of Scotland for my first job, as I feared. It seems a large part of the med student ranking is based on an airy fairy personal statement about reflection, professionalism, cultural diversity, and such like.
The academics in my year hate it, but I am delighted. xD
Today: Another day at uni to discuss electives. Very exciting! I don't know if I've mentioned it on LJ, but :D in Autumn 2010, I will be heading off to Kansas City (in the vicinity of mijan and fiona_fawkes! ♥) to train in the hospital there for 2 months, in a specialty of my choice.
So excited!!!! :D
Next year: I'll be starting Obstetrics, Gynaecology & Infectious Diseases next.
Cunts, cocks, and the clap, oh my!
